A rather delicious expression from Veuve Clicquot, which as the name suggests uses older wine and ultra low dosage for a suped-up version of the much loved Yellow Label. They take reserve wine from 1988, 1996, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and ‘double-age’ it. This means the wine spends 3 years in vats and 3 years in bottle before release. Arthur, our spirits buyer but a champagne lover, recommends this.
